Sports are always changing and evolving. Sports will always have their shining stars who will stand out in front of thousands if not millions of athletes. If the most successful athletes are the 1%, then the superstars are the 0.1%, the best of the best, the ones that even the top 100 look up to, strive to learn from.

Every sport has its superstars. Basketball has had some amazing players over the course of its professional history, specifically the players who played in the NBA.

2022 is not different in this regard and during this year, we have seen some amazing basketball players. Here are this year’s best players.

Joel Embiid

Joel Embiid is a force to be reckoned with. Standing at 7 foot 2 inches, he is a huge player and not just in terms of his height. His gameplay is huge and his own performance managed to help the Sixers win a lot of games. His performances have been deemed worthy of an MVP award, and he is currently the top player being considered for the MVP award. While it is still early to tell, The Process is an athlete to look out for.

Kevin Durant

Durant was and still is one of the greatest players of this generation, however, not everything was in his favor. As it often happens, professional athletes tend to suffer from various injuries. Professional sports are hard and athletes tend to get injured, no matter how prepared they are. Kevin Durant suffered from an achilles tendon injury in 2019 and that plagued the next two years. However, Durant adapted and learned how to play the game differently, and nowadays he is a combination of the best of his two forms, a clear MVP contender.

Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Greek player is known for his amazing gameplay, which you would expect from his multiple MVP wins, namely two of them. Currently, he is still at the top of his game, bringing his A game to the competition, fighting for another MVP win. As a basketball player, he is at the top of the ladder, but as an overall athlete, he is often beyond the competition. 

Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry is one of the world’s best shooters, and recently he beat a 3 point record, that of Ray Allen. Stephen Curry has already had quite a good career and given his performances this year and that of 2021, it is no doubt that he is looking like one of the best players on the court.

Nikola Jokic

Jokic is one of those players who you can never count out. He is the current MVP and is one of the Denver Nuggets’ star players. While his defense is nothing to write home about, his offense is one of the best in the game. Jokic is known for being able to pass the ball with his eyes and body turned in a completely opposite direction. 

These are the current best basketball players in the world, and while the list might change, we expect it not to until the end of the season.
