We all like to see creative people do what they do best and make new things come to life. Course design is one of the most interesting jobs that people can have in the world of golf. However, designing courses is not something people actually get into just like that. It takes a lot of skill and previous work before anyone will trust you to make a course.
Mini-golf courses are another story. They are meant to be challenging and to test your sense of timing as well as luck, as is often the case. There are “regular” mini golf courses and then there are the crazy mini golf courses.
This time, we will be looking at the world’s craziest and most interesting mini golf courses.
Dino Park Mini Golf – Thailand
In Phuket, Thailand, you can find a very interesting mini golf course that is themed after dinosaurs, our favorite extinct animals. It has 18 holes and is open all year round, making it the perfect golf course to visit if you are ever in Thailand. The dinosaurs will move and do things on their own, sometimes roaring, sometimes scaring you to death, so be prepared for them to move when you hit or miss or even when you are preparing to take a shot.
Championship Adventure Golf – UK
In New Brighton in the UK, Merseyside, you can find this 18 hole paradise known as the championship adventure golf course. This course remakes some of the world’s greatest courses which makes things a lot more interesting if you wanted to visit these courses but never got the opportunity to. Some of the courses are halfway around the world and if the UK is closer to you, why not play a game of mini golf?
Ahlgrim Funeral Services Course – United States
Located in Illinois in the United States is the Ahlgrim Funeral Services Course, which is, ironically enough, underneath an actual funeral home. The funeral home director relocated his business in 1964 to Palatine and found that the place had quite a large basement.
The basement was used for the best possible purposes, making a mini golf course. The course has 9 holes and they are halloween themed. Interestingly, the course doesn’t work when funeral services are taking place but otherwise, it is always open.
Lauberhorn Crazy Golf – Switzerland
Nested in the alpine village of Wengen lies a very interesting mini golf course, the Lauberhorn Crazy Golf course. The course is themed towards the local sights, namely the Alps and everything that comes with the alps, cows, ski gates, snow cannons and more. It is quite the homage to the area where it’s nested, but also a decent challenge for mini golfers.
Bubbeljungle Golf in the Dark – The Netherlands
There is nothing like playing some golf in the dark, with a glowing course. This is a detective course, where your goal is to save the kidnapped Diva Laguna, by getting clues after each successful put.
These are some of the world’s most interesting mini golf courses. Try them if you get the chance and you won’t be disappointed.
